we begin in axes crossing, in the eastern side of the river amidst a shell of a town unmarked by history
Ernestine enters the inn soaked, Morn sits already in the Inn
Morn offers Ernestine a rag to dry herself off, Ernestine takes it in gratitude
Morn offers Ernestine a drink which she accepts
The barkeep immediately goes towards them and hands the two of them a drink
Morn blows bubbles into their ale
a goblin child enters and asks for help, apparently someone got stabbed
the child was visiting their friend in the woods when they saw their friend on the floor bleeding
there wasn't any strange happenings prior to this
we arrive at the cabin, Ernestine takes charge and morn hides around the area
before they split Ernestine hands Morn some merciful balm, Morn comments on how they used it for torture once
Ernestine heads in and doesn't notice anything in particular.
She investigates the body and can only gleam that they were in fact stabbed
Morn does the same and doesn't gather more info, though they do it faster
the person died while having a drink, there was a second cup with liquid recently consumed, likely that they were drinking with someone prior to death
Morn discovers writing they cannot understand, they are written in a language that morn cannot decipher nor recognize.
they do however find illustrations amongst the writing, as it seems that they were working on something
they investigate the body, and find that a clan dagger caused the stab wound
the goblin child screams as they are attacked by three undead hands, the fight ends easily.
morn stomps on the hands while Ernestine comforts the child,
Ernestine gets the child to leave for their safety
Ernestine looks at the notes and gets fucking nothing (rerolls with hero point to get 1)
they investigate the hands and find out that they are constructed undead, while looking at the body morn senses the lack of soul, they conclude with heading back to town to investigate more with proper information
