Oi'Tovon was once a mortal prince of the great Kingdom of Eri. Their Celestial and Incelestial mixed blood gave them great potential for magic, which culminated in them becoming a master of the dark arts. After their family lost the throne, Oi'Tovon staged a rebellion, took control of Eri, and eventually attempted a ritual to become a god among gods. They did succeed partially, by sapping mortals' sorcerous potential, becoming a deity in the process. They are associated chiefly with dark magic and ruling by force.

Appearance

Oi'Tovon's appearance at the end of their mortal life is well documented. The dark magic having twisted their once human body to a mere husk. Greyed skin with sunken glowing red eyes, gaunt to the bone. In the ritual of their ascension a dark red gem infused with evil magic was placed in their forehead and skeletal arms sprouted from their body. Red fire that seems to both emanate and destroy light goes wherever they walk.

Biography

Youth

Born as the crown prince of Eri, they carried celestial and incelestial blood, as such they were later named Menelnun Oi'Tovon - the one above and below. Their father's ancestor had made a pact with a demon and produced a child, this pact allowing the dynasty to rise to power in the first place. Their mother carried celestial blood, though for how many generations and for what reason has been lost to time, as she was born a peasant. From a young age Oi'Tovon had shown great potential in the art of magic and was sent to various academies, where they forged first alliances.

Rebellion

At the time when they came of age their family's demonic blood was revealed, which resulted in the king peacefully stepping down and another noble to take power. Oi'Tovon resented this and forged their own base of power, creating an alliance of powerful mages from the academies as well as nobles hostile to the new king. The rebellion succeeded, in part by the dark magic employed by Oi'Tovon's side as well as their brutality, and they took the throne. They started solidifying their own power more and more, scheming against the people who got them the crown. Their parents, rather than submitting to their power, took their own lives.

Ascension - The Fall of Magic

->full page
They grew ever more hungry for power, experimenting with dark magic. They started developing a ritual which would kill all mortals, take their Sparks, and let Oi'Tovon ascend as more than a god, becoming a new Thought, to reshape the world as they wish.
The surrounding realms, weary of their neighbor, started preparing for war. The monarch of Heth assembled a party of heroes to infiltrate Eri and figure out Oi'Tovon's plans. The group discovered the plans for Oi'Tovons ritual and managed to undermine it and partially stop it. Instead of Oi'Tovon ascending to a god among gods, they ascended to be among the pantheon. In the process mortals all over the world lost their innate sorcerous potential and the majority of Eri's capital was killed outright. War broke out immediately, as they attempted to finish what they started and ascend further.

Commandments

Oi'Tovon commands people to take power, no matter the cost. Sacrificing other for your own gain and using dark and twisted magic. But above all else Oi'Tovon commands people to finalize their ritual and fully give them the power they need to break the barrier to Celestium and reshape the world to their will.

Worship

Worshipping Oi'Tovon is outlawed in every major country. People who are found praying to them or performing rituals are executed by the guards, that is if an angry mob of villagers don't get to them first. Nevertheless the power they offer is seducing, as such there are people who worship them in secret and cults that perform dark rituals under the cover of night.

Prayers

Oi'Tovon is prayed to like any other deity, though they prefer their prayers written in blood. More than just praying however, followers make sacrifices. Cultist gatherings often involve the ritualistic killing of an innocent and the burning of the body
