Orcs are a type of kin that live in small pockets in every corner of Elud.
Due to their expertise in hunting large game many governments hire them to keep the population of Monstrosities in check.
Physiology
Orcs resemble humans with green to grey skin and boar-like canines. They stand slightly taller on average than humans and have greatly developed musculature.
Orcs have incredibly high pain tolerance and their thick skin scars easily.
History
Orcs were created in the second age in a contest between Tuymet and TBD-WARDEITY. The contest was about emulating each others aspects. In this Tuymet created orcs to be excellent hunters with a warrior culture. In turn TBD-WARDEITY created lizardfolk.
Culture
Orc Holds
Most orcs tend to live in an orc hold, villages of hide tents, wood houses, and surrounded with a wall. Orc holds tend to only house orcs, thought he occasional traveler is also accepted and rarely you get families of other ancestries 'adopted' into orc society. Orc holds more often than not have an agreement with the lord whose lands they live in. They are allowed to self govern and have their own laws (up to specific limitations) and may use the area around them for hunting (again up to specific limitations).
Hunting
Orcs mostly live off the hunt. They hunt large monstrosities in groups, focusing more on a fight than a slow stalk. Nearby villages and towns of other ancestries will often call upon the orc hold to deal with a dangerous beast if one is threatening them.
War
In addition to this orcs have a warrior culture. They hold contests and duels, that do sometimes end in death. This leads to the second agreement they have with the country they live in: during wartime entire orc holds will get drafted. Leaving the elderly behind to watch over the young and others unable to fight, they will go to war proudly for the noble they have an agreement with. Orc individuals can also often be seen serving within established army structures, finding their place easily in most ranks but often ending up in the position of drill sergeant and overseeing training.
