The Grogrisant was a mythical lion-like monstrosity created during the Fallwar and slain by Caerthynna Alrantora.
Appearance
The grogrisant resembled a six-eyed lion, standing about 18 feet tall at the shoulder. Its golden mane amplified sunlight to such an extent that it could permanently blind anyone who tried to look directly at it.
History
The Fallwar
The Grogrisant was created during the Fallwar by Mothayra to track down and slay Drygmir Cyffretora, the king and general of Heth, a task in which it succeeded.
It continued playing a pivotal role in the war, turning the tide of many battles.
Third Era
During the dwarven era the Grogrisant seemed to lay mostly dormant. Reports about it in this time are few, it probably stalked the Field of Scythes. At some point it must have migrated south to the enan_plain for a while, as it produced offspring with the lions of the plain to produce Grisantian Lions.
In this era it started being strongly mythologized. It was said that whomever would one day slay it would claim the Right of Vengeance and take on a new crown of Heth.
Slaying of the Grogrisant
On Topaasi 12, 28e4 it was slain by Caerthynna Alrantora using Ristang. Its fur was incorporated into Ang'Amath and is still part of the royal regalia of Alranle.
